Microsoft announced Windows Mobile 5 today….

I have not used Windows Mobile 5 on a live machine, but did get a chance to kick the wheels using an emulator. I have put together a small presentation of screenshots to give a visual. This is by no means a complete review. I do not know enough about what is new and what’s planned. Some of the features of this OS are up to the OEMs (Dell, HP, etc…) to implement so we may not see them on our device of choice.

It is likely to be 3-4 months before you see Windows Mobile 5 powered device. (I may be wrong though) Now developers at the OEMs are tasked with getting this release meshed into their products.

Also, to our surprise, BOTH HP AND DELL ANNOUNCED that they would be offering upgrades to WM5 for exsisting devices.
