Meet Jim
This post was published 3 years 10 months 16 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Late, as usual. Finally you all get to meet the "ancient gadgeteer".
My first gadget was a nice,
little, portable stone tablet and… OK, OK. Enough of that. I figure I may as well get that stuff out of the way before these little kids.. err… nice young writers on the team start in on me.
Many may know me as Scylla on another great and wonderful Pocket PC site; most will know me as J-Mac from around the rest of the PDA web world. Yes, I am a gadget freak and I fear that there is no hope for me in that respect. I’ve been writing about handheld devices for four years now. I hail back to the early Palm devices and the good old Newton and Epoc originally. But beyond handheld devices I am one of those geeks that has some sort of gadget (I say "device", but everyone I know says "gadget") in every pocket, on my belt, attached to my wrist, hanging around my neck. It’s truly a wonder that lightning doesn’t just ignore every other living organism and devote its time to smacking me around regularly, for good measure! Yes, I wear every article of TEC (Technology Enabled Clothing) clothing sold by Scott Jordan of ScotteVest, and so in cold weather I have anywhere from 21 to 47 pockets available for my various devices. Downright frightening, huh?
In "real" life I was a project engineer and project controls manager for an international engineering and construction company, but recently became unable to work outside the home, for reasons that I won’t bore you with here. Suffice it to say that I have a good bit of time to try to keep you entertained here.
So bookmark this site and stop in and visit us often. Real often!
