airplane incident Some scary moments on board an Alaska Airlines MD-80 were captured by a passenger with his camera phone Monday.

A twelve inch by six inch hole opened up in the fuselage during ascent and caused loss of cabin pressure.  Oxygen masks were deployed and the plane returned to the airport for an emergency landing.  No one on board was hurt.

Jeremy Hermanns, a passenger on the plane, snapped a few photos with his camera phone during the frightening incident.

"There was a visible fear on everyone’s face" he said.
