A few days ago I commented about the Celio Redfly adding support for BlackBerrys. I came across that bit of information first while researching to purchase a Celio RedFly myself and then while I’ve been …

Answer calls without taking off your headphones

If you listen to a lot of music and are constantly annoyed by having to take off your headphones to answer your cell phone, you might find Tekkeon’s myTalker to be right up your alley.

This interesting little device plugs inline between your MP3 player and headphones.  It also establishes a Bluetooth connection with your BT-equipped cell phone.

When you answer or make a call, this device will mute the audio from your MP3 player and route the audio from your cell phone directly to your headphones.  A microphone is built into the myTalker unit for your voice transmission.

The call features are very similar to a standard Bluetooth headset, allowing you to answer/reject/end calls, voice dial, hold, use call waiting/conferencing, redial, and control call volume.

I’d love to get my hands on a myTalker to hook up with my Dell DJ, which I listen to constantly at work.  With this device I could just toss my cell phone in my drawer and never even have to take off my headphones.

Also, while the Tekkeon website says the myTalker works for the iPod and other MP3 players, I don’t see any reason you couldn’t use it for other devices with a 3.5mm headphone jack…. like portable DVD players, laptops, radios, etc.

Holy creative device batman! Wow, that should be really neat, but as always I'm skeptical...I'd want to see one in use first.
