Google has recently announced plans to introduce a music download service that will allow users to download episodes of various TV shows for $1.99.  From Lost to I Love Lucy, it sounds like there should be good variety.  In more interesting news, however, google is working with popular codec creator DivX to make the files available for moblie devices.  DivX enables good video compression while maintaining high quality using an optimized Mpeg-4 variant.  Although much free software exists to convert videos to DivX, even to PPC or phone-optimized DivX, this is a time consuming process and a one stop shop might be very attractive to many consumers.  Watch for it at video.google.com
