How PocketPC Thoughts finds these nuggets with no help from HP at all. I run iPaqHQ.com and I can tell you from experience, that HP doesn’t get it when it comes to website evangelists. Last year they ran off both of the iPaq Only related sites with their crap as well as the most popular general PocketPC site, PocketPC Thoughts. Despite this block, PPCT does a great job scouring for these announcements. ( I dub PPCT, my HP Media Contact )

What do they bring us this time? Good news for me! Not that I want an iPaq hw6500 series anymore, but I am excited that Cingular is finally getting into the ballgame with smart devices.

Cingular’s website shows the HW6510 for sale now. ( Link )

"Cingular are now selling the HP iPAQ hw6510 on their website. It’s pretty much the same as the hw6515 with one crucial omission; it lacks a camera. Or rather, it hasn’t been lumbered with one. Your choice. Choice is good." - Jonathon Watkins, PPCT

Yes Jonathon, choice is good and I choose, "Not Lumbered".

Glad to see HP make the move to omit a camera from what most would consider a business-class phone. Many companies have no-camera policies, which includes camera phones.

I really wish that there was an SMT5600 without a camera, as I love my phone.... but all it takes is one little signature on a policy one of these days, to make me leave it in the car.
