Jordan Wigley. Who is this guy?

Since some of you don’t know me, I thought I’d take a minute to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Jordan Wigley, though some of you might know me as "deftech" on several web forums.
I’ve known Chris for a few years now, ever since I first became a member on Aximsite. I’ve helped out around numerous sites that he has run, and here I am yet again to contribute content to Mobility Site.
I graduated from the University of Alabama in December 2004 with a BS in Management Information Systems and a minor in Computer Science. I am currently working as a Systems Programmer in the IT Security department of a major corporation.
I have had a love for gadgets literally since the time I was crawling. Whenever I got a new toy as a kid, the first thing I did was take it apart to figure out how it worked. And then when I was just several years old, my parents really added to my geekiness by giving me a TI-99/A computer for Christmas. Here I am 20 years later unable to go a day without using a computer or gadget of some sort.
The main gadgets I use on a daily basis are an Audiovox SMT 5600 smartphone, a Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop, and a Dell DJ digital audio player. I also have a Dell Axim X3i that I use for my main PocketPC, as well as an older Dell Axim X5 that I use in my car with a GPS receiver.
Other than mobile gadgets, I am also really interested in home theater gear. I currently have a good audio setup that includes Definitive Technology speakers, an Onkyo receiver, and various other components. Once I move from my apartment into a house, I plan to purchase a nice HD monitor to complete the video side of my setup.
I’ve also got enough DVDs to start my own rental store, so I’ve got plenty of titles to choose from anytime I get bored around the house. To keep myself occupied on the road I subscribe to XM Radio, though my car stereo/speakers could definitely use an upgrade.
On the personal side of my life, I am engaged to the most wonderful woman in the world. We have been together for over 6 years now, and we will be getting married this August after she graduates from the nursing program at the University of Alabama.
I hope everyone enjoys the site, and I will do my best to publish items that you’ll actually find interesting. Thanks for taking the time to find out a little about me, and I look forward to reading your comments on my future postings.
