A few days ago I commented about the Celio Redfly adding support for BlackBerrys. I came across that bit of information first while researching to purchase a Celio RedFly myself and then while I’ve been …

mtvmsparty1.jpg The 1st night I was at CES 2006, I finished off the day with a fun and entertaining evening at Ceasar’s Palace Pure Nightclub. It was an exclusive Microsoft/MTV Party that featuring "the Killers" and the "Pussycat Dolls".

The party was way crowded and had an open bar (although I don’t drink). The Killers put on a great performance. I was able to get my geek on at this party though, I ran down one of the Microsoft Product Managers for a Demo of the Toshiba Gigabeat S Series ( the for sure iPod Video Killer – more on that later ) and the Motorola Q.

I was joined at this party by Andrew Brown (Microsoft), Steven "FYIguy" Hughs(Boston PocketPC), Mauricio Freitas(Geekzone), Dale Coffing(Microsoft Evangelist and Pastor), and Jason Dunn(PocketPC Thoughts and Smartphone Thoughts).

No problem Mauricio, its good publicity having such an star onboard!
  • Wow... Cool photo. The party was nice - and thanks for me being in the middle ;-)

Looks like a fun night on the town. I too like The Killers.

Well I didn't really know how to address Dale. He was a Microsoft MVP as Steven, Mauricio, and I are. He used to have the very popular PocketPCPassion.com and now he basicly does shows for Microsoft. (he is a wonderful public speaker and is very passionate about Windows Mobile!).

Sounds like a fun night. The Killers are a pretty good band.

I love that "Evangelist" title that Microsoft likes to use for some of its positions. We had some Developer Evangelists visit our company a while back for a Steering Committee presentation of VS.NET 2005. We all tried to get our managers to create Evangelist positions, but they were none to keen on the idea. :p
