No MP3 For You!

Listening to MP3s on your Verizon mobile phone? Well, if you’re planning to upgrade your phone’s operating system to the "latest and greatest" firmware — to take advantage of Verizon’s new mobile music store — your MP3 library might not make the move with you.
It seems that Microsoft asked (aka: stipulated) that Verizon limit their hardware’s music file support to Microsoft’s format — all in an effort to "make Verizon’s music store "fly".
If you erroneously upgraded, don’t like the new "featureset" and now want to return to your MP3 roots, Verizon has a plan in place — they will quietly replace your phone with a refurbished unit running the older firmware. But, you have to complain to get the refurb unit.
Verizon won’t let you know any of this in advance — how’s that for worldclass customer service?
