This post was published 3 years 10 months 15 days ago. This info might have changed or might have become outdated. My very first post and I get to introduce a new phone! Unveiled at this years CES Show in Las Vegas, the i830 has taken a back seat to the Palm Treo 700w and Motorola Q’s publicity. This may be because Samsung choose to stay with Windows Mobile 2003 SE instead of going with the new Windows Mobile 5.0. Also missing is wifi that was found in it’s predecessor the i730. But the i830 has improved it phone capability by going to a quad band (GSM 900 / 1800 / CDMA 800 / 1900) with cdma2000 1xEV-DO High Speed Data transfer. Here’s the run down:

It was rumored that the Samsung i830 would be available from Verizon by January 10th, but it has still not made it to their website. They still have the i730 priced at $499.99 with contract. Verizon is highly promoting the Treo 700w so we will have to wait and see when the Samsung i830 will be released.
