The United Nations is backing a project to get a $100, hand-cranked laptop computer to millions of schoolchildren around the globe.

The goal is to give the laptop, free of change, to children in poor countries who can’t afford computers.

It will have limited capabilities and programs that it can run, but the idea is to get them familiar with technology and most of all, get them more up to date access to learning texts.

I think the idea may turn out really well. It gives them access to texts they otherwise  wouldn’t have, or the text would be out of day and incorrect.

This may help them to learn better and more so they can go further in life than may had been possible before.

I also heard they may think about selling them for $110 or so in other places to help recover some of the cost.
