OK, some rambling today. Nothing really bad.

  • The clicking noise is apparently not normal, I am going to look into that.
  • Reiteration – ZLauncher is GOOD!
  • I have tested the playing on a call works, which I don’t know what I assumed it wouldn’t.
  • The Camera still sucks.
  • Verichat is GOOD. I found this one and I am glad I did, I absolutely love it! MSN and YIM at the same time!!!

List continued, read more…

  • I have been using a corded headset. With all the Bluetooth headsets I have, I can’t figure out why I just started using one. I have paired the Treo 650 up with the Nextlink Bluespoon Axe2 and it works great!
  • I found a killer list of Tip and Tricks here.
  • I will once again mention that this thing needs a cradle, is this any way for a nice device to live?
  • Thanks to all that have been helping and making suggestions this week. Its been a great help.

Dossy? Is your working again?

  • Re: cradles, I would recommend *NOT* using the Palm cradle. I haven't used any of the others, so it may in fact be the best out there. But I don't like it.

To make it work, you take a standard treo usb sync cable (and optionally a power cable) and you plug it into the bottom of the cradle. Then you can stick your treo into the cradle and everything works...

...except when it doesn't. IMHO the problem is the connection between the sync cable and the cradle. It's not a very solid connection and it frequently comes loose.

About the only good thing about the Palm cradle is that the treo sits quite securely in it. Especially when compared to the hotsync cable alone. But, if I were in the market for a cradle, I'd look at one of the other brands.

    $.02.
  • Yeah - DocumentsToGo *sucked* on my 650 - that app always resulted in a ton of spontaneous resets. Heard lots of old-time Palm OS guys raving about it - but it never did me any favors ...
  • "Dossy? Is your working again?"

Yup. As a long-time Palm owner, I've faced problems like this before. I did a hard-reset, and dumped the contents of my HotSync "backup" folder, and re-synced and everything was working. So, I slowly re-added things back to the folder, and through trial and error, found that the phone stopped working when I added the DocumentsToGo onto the phone.

So, now I'm up and running on the 1.17 software but without DocumentsToGo, which isn't much of a loss since I wasn't really using the app anyway.

Take a look at Brando too for cradle

  • If you're still looking for apps to mess with on the 650: hiLauncher (neater, less cluttered than Zlauncher); Slap - like a quick notepad but with buttons down the right-hand edge of screen for one-press creation of task, appointment, email etc (another nice one-handed app); MobiTV - just super cool; Butler - for alarms / reminders and lots more.
