ishirt.jpg A tshirt with a magnet to latch on to the iPod Shuffle to complete the iShirt phrase. Great thinking, but silly in my opinion. I am sure it’ll sell well though with these iPod cultists.

Here are the FAQs for this shirt!
I see that the iShirt clasp is magnetic. Will this make a problem for my iPod shuffle?
Tomi Responds:
The magnetic clasp system has been tested extensively with the iPod shuffle. Since the shuffle uses solid state flash memory it is unaffected by magnetic fields.

Can the iShirt be used with the iPod Mini or standard iPod?
Tomi Responds:
No! It will only work with the iPod Shuffle. The magnetic clasp may damage the hard drives in the iPod Mini or standard iPod.

How can I wash the iShirt?
Tomi Responds:
The clasp is removable so you can wash the shirt. Care instructions are included with the iShirt.

No, the question of "Why" doesn't really enter in. If it did, the simple answer is "because enough people think it's entertaining that it's worthwhile to make and sell the shirt."

And it's not like people will automatically buy the shirt and walk around the rough neighborhoods with their expensive music player stuck to their shirts. You don't wear a bikini in the snow. You don't wear a parka to sunbathe. Why? Because you're smart enough to realize that while the item of clothing in question is appropriate at some times, it's not appropriate at others.
  • I don't think it is a question of "cool or silly?" I think it is a question of why? Who wants to walk around with their rubbish Ipod (no offence to Ipod owners) hanging off a T-shirt with a big I on it along with shirt just to point out it is actually a shirt.

Plus, isn't it a bit vulnerable to thieves if you just walk around showing of your Ipod on your shirt. (The adverts in English cinemas about showing off money comes to mind here!!)
