nokiaaudioadaptor.jpg"So, while the FCC was busy approving Nokia’s N91 musicphone, it looks like the Feds also gave their blessing to the company’s AD-42W Wireless Audio Gateway, which allows the phone (and, presumably, any other Bluetooth device with A2DP support) to transmit audio over Bluetooth to a stereo system or powered speakers. Nothing too exciting here; just a box with RCA jacks. Still, we’d like to give it a try, especially with other Bluetooth audio products that might be coming down the pike." - Engadget

Ok, this looks like the audio accessory of the year to me. If you click this image and view the larger version, you will see two buttons. Now I have no clue what this thing will be used for, but what I see is a way of bluetooth sync for a phone, etc. I also, the bluetooth button and the RCA inputs make me think that we will have a way to slap an audio device with RCA out into this thing and tranmit via bluetooth to stereo headphones. We will soon see I am sure.

  • Hi,

Those buttons, from looking closely at the icons I suggest the one on the left is a kind of on and off button. The icon is the standard Nokia Bluetooth logo. The other, i agree could well be a sync system, or a search system, not totally sure.

Very interesting. Would be neat to be able to use your phone with say a BookShelf Stereo or something that you may have at work! Plus it would be great for around the house.

I just hope its not like all other bluetooth items like this that are all seemingly expensive for how little they are (take the Motorola Bluetooth Speakerphone for example!)
