samsung_i320_handset.jpgOne of the mobile handsets launched by Samsung at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona is the Samsung i320. The Samsung i320 is a clean and compact smartphone running on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 5.0. What I like about the i320 is the whopping 120MB of onboard memory. That’s huge! And if that’s not enough to satisfy you, how about adding on to it through a microSD slot?

But more than memory, what’s more important is connectivity. The Samsung i320 is a tri-band GSM phone capable of GPRS/EDGE. There’s support for Bluetooth too. What’s absent, however, is IrDA. A good thing too I must say. Who in their right mind would use IrDA anyway?

On the camera side you have 1.3 megapixel one. The landscape QVGA screen can display all of 65K color display at a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. As a media player, the i320 supports MPEG4 / H.263 / H.264 / WMV video formats and MP3 / AAC / AAC+ / WMA / WAV / OGG audio formats. The QWERTY keyboard should suffice for quick messaging. At 95 grams and 11.5 mm thick, it shouldn’t be a nuisance to carry around.

Samsung i320 Smartphone Availability is scheduled in Q2 of 2006.
