The shortage is over! In a press release today (read more for complete press release), Microsoft announces the spring line up of new games and most importantly, an Inventory Surge!

“Today we have turned a major corner,” said Peter Moore, corporate vice president of the Interactive Entertainment Business in the Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft. “With more consoles on their way to retail, 80 games available by June, and new content and experiences coming to Xbox Live® all the time, there has never been a better time to own an Xbox 360.”

I can tell you that I have no purchased yet, I can not justify it. If I bought an Xbox 360, i’d have to sell this site to someone as I couldn’t take care of it anymore. I have really enjoyed the Xbox 360 being sold out everywhere. It has helped that I have not been faced with the angony that I was faced with this past Saturday….. I am at Toys’r'us getting a birthday present for a friend’s daughter and I stroll by the gaming systems and I see the core system and the other combo is in stock. Standing there with my son in the buggy and Dora the Explorer toys in the back, I pull out my wallet and peel off five bills and put them in my shirt pocket, grab the system and continue shopping. I went back and forth for the next 30 minutes and ultimately made the correct choice an returned the system back to the open cabinet that was supposed to be locked behind glass.

In addition to annoucning a surge in supply, they dropped this list of new games:
• 2006 FIFA World Cup (EA SPORTS)
• Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (Electronic Arts Inc.)
• Blazing Angels (Ubisoft)
• Burnout Revenge (Electronic Arts)
• Dynasty Warriors® 5 Empires (KOEI)
• The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Bethesda Softworks/2K Games)
• Far Cry Instincts Predator (Ubisoft)
• FINAL FANTASY® XI (Square Enix Inc.)
• Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (Ubisoft)
• Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend (Eidos)
• Major League Baseball 2K6 (2K Sports)
• The Outfit (THQ)
• Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis (Rockstar Games)
• Rumble Roses XX (Konami)
• Top Spin 2 (2K Sports)
• X-Men: The Official Game (Activision)
