For years I have said that I would never buy an iPod. Well today, I want to apologize for the evil deed I have done. The day that the iPod Nano 1GB version was announced, I ordered on for a contest here on the site. When it arrived, my 12 year old daughter and wife went gaga over it. I explained to them that it was natural to desire this pop culture icon of a device and they reluctantly agreed that they didn’t need one.

Fast foward to yesterday. Since I have had several companies that I have dealt with in the past in other avenues contact me offering iPod Accessories to test and review for this site, I decided I should get one of each for review purposes. (R&D) Well the problem is that the women in my life would be upset if they didn’t get one too. To solve this problem, I purchased each of them 1GB White iPod Nanos and for the collection I got the Black 30GB Video iPod.

To all those that have heard me trash the iPod scene, I am sorry. I am not ready to concede that these are superior to one device or another, but I will only say that I am opening my mind to things I would normally not purchase. (remember the Palm Treo 650 I bought?)
