New PSP Enhancements Coming Soon

You probably have been seeing the rumors of a new thinner, lighter, smaller PSP coming this next holiday season, even we had a post on it a few days ago! This maybe mostly rumors at this time, but what are not just rumors are the new enhancements that are going to be coming out for the PSP this autumn and pre-holiday season.
First up is a GPS receiver for the PSP. There have been rumors of the GPS add-on since some pictures from a magazine appeared on the internet a few weeks ago. Finally Sony has said that it will be a true item coming this autumn.
Next is the EyeToy for PSP which will…
be (at least I would think) similar to the PS2 EyeToy in which you can interact with games via movements on camera. It also supposedly will be for use with a new VoIP service that will be on the PSP in October.
Then there is supposedly going to be a new digital service allowing people to download games and applications directly to your PSP (memory stick). So we may finally be able to buy games online and not even have to go to the store or wait in line.
Finally, a new firmware should be heading our way with Macromedia Flash support! and a new RSS Channel feature. I am also pretty sure that the new firmware will feature some upped security features considering the latest (2.6) firmware has been hacked.
On top of all this new stuff, the base price is going to be lowered to $199. Talk about some heated competition for Nintendo! Right now I think Sony is playing the cards pretty well and they know that they have the most advanced handheld device on the market.
