A few months ago I saw a generic brand USB Car Stereo at Wally World and thought it was a great idea. So I have been doing some checking and it seems all of the major car radio manufacturers are offering affordable versions of a USB Car Stereo. From the crutchfieldadvisor.com:

You can plug your USB flash drive into the front panel of JVC’s KD-G720.

USB in your dash

At CES 2006, several car audio manufacturers announced new head units that will feature a USB port. Users will be able to connect a flash drive or portable MP3 player with a USB connection to new car stereos from JVC, Alpine, Kenwood, and Dual. Some new car stereos, such as Dual’s KDMR7710, will even control portable MP3 players with Microsoft’s PlaysForSure technology when connected via USB. Stereos such as JVC’s KD-G720 offers a USB port on the front panel, while models from Alpine offer a USB connection on the back of the stereo.
