Knowing phones, there are always new things coming out and IMO it is stupid to buy the latest thing as it just drops like a rock in price in just a few weeks (take the Razr, SLVR, and Rokr for example). As I can see, cingular is trying to get rid of some old units, or those that were returned/replaced by the protection plan. They fixed them, not they are selling them.
