F Shaped Pattern reading is revealed after eye movement study has been completed at various cities around the world including New York, London and Sydney. According to the eye tracking study, readers and web surfers tend to move accross the top first, then immediately scan vertical down the page (possibly by the force of the scrolling action) then skim accross once more before scrolling down to end of the page.

"Is “text-box blindness” getting to be as bad as “banner blindness”? We don’t know yet, but in our eyetracking study, users didn’t look at the Google ads in the right-hand margin of this page any more than they did banner ads. (Image)"

The end results of this pattern indicates that users won’t read your text throughly, the first or first two paragraphs should get your point accross and the beginning of your text must have the important points.
