According to Sony’s announcement at E3, PS3 will arrive in two versions, 20GB and 60GB editions. The difference will not only be the space, but also wi-fi functionality and  HDMI connections will only be available on the 60 GB version, possibly priced at $/€599. 20GB version will be available for $/€499. Another major difference will be the lack of on board flash memory card reader on $/€499 version, which is planned to support Memory Stick variations, SD and CF formats. The "pro" version of PS3 will come with one HDMI, one Ethernet and four USB ports.

Sony is planning to hit the final schedule of November 11th in Japan, November 17th in US and EU.

It also looks like Sony decided not to make the boomerang controller, instead improved dual shock controller(s) will come with PS3.

Although steeply priced at $600, compared to Blu-Ray player prices, the unit does not seem too expensive, however will the avarage gamer drop half a grand on a gaming console, only time and available game titles will tell.
