Cingular is counting the days until next years American Idol in hopes of once again setting another text messaging record! This year Taylor Hick’s Fans, The Soul Patrol, along with the rest of American Idol fans text messaged their votes via Cingular wireless 64.5 million times surpassing last seasons mark of 41.5 million text messages. Who knows what gimmick American Idol will come with next year for the show after putting a the Gray Haired "Soul Man" Taylor Hicks in the winner’s circle, but rest assured that there will be a lot of text messaging going on to let them know about it!
