Unvieled at Cebit 2006, the Asus P525 looks like a serious contender. The peppy processor may make this thing popular. It will most likely be overshadowed by the Q and HTC Hermes Variant due out soon. One BIG positive : It’s GSM!

Running on a 416MHz Intel XScale, the P525 comes with 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM, with a expansion slot (miniSD card). It supports quad band GSM nertwork (850/900/1800/1900) and GPRS Class B, multi-slot Class 10. The 2.8" display (240 x 320 pixels) is touchscreen.

  • This has handwriting recognition which is alot faster way to imput words then using your thumb to type, trying not to push the adjacent keys.

I'm not seeing any keyboard on this? It doesn't look like it has a slide out keyboard like the Hermes either. Without a keyboard it will certainly get left behind and not really comparable to anything except the Star Trek witch is a flip phone.
