SONY PICTURES has announced that it will release its first seven titles on the Blu-ray format on June 20.
The roll-out will coincide with the first commercially available Blu-ray DVD player from Samsung and a Blu-ray-compatible PC from Sony.
Titles that will be rolled out will include "50 First Dates," "The Fifth Element," "Hitch" and the "House of Flying Daggers."
The movie studio said it will release a few more titles in the coming weeks.
A bit of a poor launch if you ask me, none of those films are going to make me jump up and buy into this technology. I think the wait and watch approach will be adopted by most people, do I hear the cry Betamax vs VHS?.
