Google CEO Expresses Concerns Over IE7

Juan Carlos Perez from IDG News Service wrote an article about the "Search giant doesn’t like the integrated search feature in Microsoft’s browser".

In part, Juan’s article said:

Microsoft is currently beta-testing IE7, which contains a search box whose drop-down menu is set by default to use the company’s search engine but includes other options as well. Google executives have in recent months complained about this, and Schmidt reiterated their concern.

"We want to make sure that the use of the power of Windows is done in a correct and legally appropriate way," Schmidt said in a question-and-answer session with financial analysts and investors that was presented as a Webcast.

My take is that if Google has a concern, make your own then and make it better. Oh yeah, I forgot…they did. They use Mozilla’s Firefox and it defaults to Google. Is there something wrong here? I think so!

The difference though, is that google gives people the option. People have to go and get Firefox. IE is included with windows and therefore forced upon people in some respect. By the way, while Google may employ some of the Mozilla people, they dont run Mozilla. They just provide for it.
