Cell phone maker Nokia announced on June 22nd that they do not intend to form a new CDMA device company with Sanyo that had been previously announced. This decision was based on market factors and profitability, not on technology. They still plan to participate (selectively) in key CDMA markets, including North America.

They will be ramping down their R&D and manufacturing for CDMA next year, and are now evaluating their existing infrastructure to maximize their profits. You can read the entire press release here.
