Samsung unveils a trio of superslim chic phones to capitalize on the runaway success of the Motorola RAZR. The first is the X820 ultra-slim phone with a 2-mega pixel camera that weighs only 66 grams and is only 6.9 milimeters thick. It also has triband GSM, a music player and high speed Edge connectivity. The RAZR is double the thickness at 14 milimeters thick.

The ultra-slim clamshell D830 weighs 85 grams and is 9.9 milimeters thick and also sports a 2 megapixel camera.

The third phone is the D900, a slider phone that also weighs 85 grams and is 12.9 milimeters thick, and has a 3 megapixel camera. The 262K color screen (240 x 320) will display animated graphics to alert users of missed calls or unread messages, and imported documents can be viewed on the vivid screen. You can also enhance your multimedia experience with the Bluetooth stereo headset. The onboard music player can play mp3, aac, and aac+ formats via the phone’s 80 Mb onboard memory or Micro SD card.

All these phones should be available later this year according to a statement by Samsung. Samsung has a global market share of almost 13%, while Finland’s Nokia leads the industry with almost 33%. Motorola is second at 20%.
