Our youngest daughter recently graduated from high school. Among the graduation gifts her friends received were a wide variety of laptop computers. All shapes, all sizes. Most were given as gifts since they would be going on to college, and the family computer would have to stay home. Our daughter will be getting one, but she wants to wait till closer to school to get the latest and greatest. If you are in the same situation, or know someone who is, PC Magazine has a review of some of the new smaller, ultraportable laptops in their latest edition.

There is a wide selection that is reviewed, and with the performance testing they do, should make that purchasing decision a little easier. The way it could easier than this is to have someone else pay for it, but that won’t be happening, at least around our house.
