It\'s is possible that the information within this article is now out of date or updated.

Launched with much fanfare during the last Super Bowl, it appears that the highly touted Mobile ESPN cell phone service is in trouble. It is being reported by many online publications that subscriptions are far below predictions, with many analysts calling for the plug to be pulled on the service.

It will be interesting to see how long the Disney company sticks with this program, since it is estimated to loose over $80 million this year alone. But it could be that specialized programming arrangements such as this could be the future of this industry. Disney also has a family-based system called Disney Mobile that features GPS tracking of kids, and controlling when and how long teens can use the phones. This could be the bleeding edge of technology. Or it could be just a bust. Stay tuned.
