On The Road Again!

This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. As a kid, summer vacations usually meant road trips in the back of the family car, coloring or reading a book. No Gameboys or PSPs or built-in DVD players. How did we manage? Even our children didn’t have those luxuries, even though we did have dedicated Gameboys for long road trip. Today, that has all changed. Many auto makers are installing mobile entertainment centers in their vehicles to help pass the time on those long trips. But what about those older cars that don’t have the built-in stuff. There are options for them as well.

PC Magazine has an interesting article on Portable Video Players that covers just about every imaginable type. It starts with the Apple iPod video, go through the hard drive based players such as the Archos AV500 and AV700 and even looks at the new iRiver Clix flash-based unit. There are 7 players reviewed. If you have a summer trip coming up, then this would be a great article to look for options on how to entertain the troops in the back seat on that long voyage. Of course, it doesn’t have to be summer to use them either.
