As I was browsing through the web today, I ran across this very cool, very unique technology that takes large collections of photos of a place or object, analyzes them for similarities, and displays them in a reconstructed 3-dimensional space. This technology is absolutely amazing and if you click the links on the next page to see the video…you will be in awe as you watch it.

This program may well change how you Experience Mobility as you capture those precious moments while traveling. So what is Photosynth? Photosynth is an amazing new technology from Microsoft Live Labs that will change the way you think about digital photos forever.  Click Read More below to see some interesting videos.

Collecting a series of photos taken by you or others of similar areas, Photosynth will apply a series of complicated algorithms and will extract distinctive features, like like a clock, or a piece of a building. Then, photos that share similar features are all linked together allowing a 3D position to be calculated. The result is a 3D model that is just spectacular.

Check out this video of Photosynth then look at this Photosynth Tour with Live Labs Architect Blaise Agüera y Arcas

Pretty neat stuff …now when can I get it for my collection of photographs?
