Hi! i read this review because i´m looking for the answer for the same problem... i believe that this is probably an automatic procedure in the device which extend the battery life... but i need to confirm that... for the moment I only ignore the power switching because i´m sure that this will return to the normal function...

sorry the english! ;-)

I have a powersource 400 - I have been using it to backup my fish tank 100W heater of all things. We've never lost power since I've had the Xantrex - but recently (yesterday) it constantly says there is a power failure and the lights go blue and it switches to battery. If you unplug it and plug it back in - it gets power - etc. and then goes back to ac for about 10 minutes. Could our power not be in the right range? I have noticed some utility work in the area yesterday - but it started again this morning and still won't go back to being off battery. Any thoughts?

Hi Derek
When I did the test, the Xantrex battery was fully charged and it ran my laptop for 9.5 hours...the laptop battery was removed during the testing.

can you try the laptop test again, but without the laptop battery in the laptop, so it uses the true AC power, not trickle to recharge the laptop battery?
