I was cruising the net the other day, checking to see how the Yankees were doing. I saw on their webpage a dropdown menu called "Mobile". So I looked at it. It seems that Major League Baseball is now in the full digital mode of keeping fans informed about their favorite team. You can surf MLB.com from any mobile device to catch schedules and scores, game previews and recaps, as well as complete pitch-by-pitch action. For $3.99 a month you can get post-7th inning lead changes, transaction updates, homerun alerts, as well as breaking news. Coming soon is the ability to listen to live gameday audio, for $5.99/month. This isn’t just limited to the NY Yankees, all of the MLB teams have this on their sites as well.  Other sports are following this trend of delivering team content to their fans as fast as a Randy Johnson fastball. Now if they could just find a way to get those popcorn and peanuts and crackerjacks there as well.
