Virgin Atlantic Innovates With In-Flight Texting Service

Since passengers can’t yet use cell phones and very few can use wifi while traveling five miles above earth, carriers are trying any gimmick to lure customers and provide a better experience aboard their airline. Such is the case with London based carrier Virgin Atlantic. They have stated plans to introduce the "worlds first in-flight texting service," that has nothing to do with sms; rather, passengers can text any question from their seatback television to an existing "land-based text answer service" that will answer any queries within minutes.

The company anticipates questions about popular entertainment in destination cities, how to survive jetlag and brushups on foreign languages. This may certainly beat a conversation with a snoring passenger next to you. I’m still holding out for cell phone use and wifi.
