Usually, when a piece of software reaches the &quot;publc beta&quot; stage, most (if not all) of the &quot;bugs&quot; are worked out.  I like the opportunity to try beta&#039;s because you can get a feel for the changes and decide if it is the right time to upgrade.

Some programs I never upgrade because I am satisfied with the current version but others I always choose to upgrade because I want the &quot;latest and greatest&quot; for that particular piece.  I use TextMaker so much that it is one that I always tend to upgrade.
