What is being touted as a "Special Event", Apple will be holding a press conference at 10:00am on September 12th at the Yerba Buena Center for Arts in San Francisco, CA. Appleinsider reports that this event is expected to announce new hardware and software across the entire Apple product line, including new iPods.

Speculation about the new iPod Nano is that it will have a new scratch resistant case similar to the iPod Mini. Upgrades to iTunes to feature streaming video and movie content are also being speculated. But the touch screen iPod seems to delayed. But then again, Steve Jobs has been known to feature surprises in the past. This could be no different.
