EXCALIBUR

Last night I met up with a friend of mine named Mark Marrow, some of you know him as Bengalboy. Anyhow, we met up to do some comparison photos of the Motorola Q, Palm Treo 700w, and the HTC Excalibur. I shot a couple pics too, but I got home to late last night to offload them. I will add them to this post sometime this weekend. In addition, I will let you all know when he has his review online. 

I was truely amazed at the size of the Excalibur. When i first saw photos of the HTC Excalibur, I expected it to be a Moto Q competitor and agreed with many comments I had see stating that it was ugly. That was a perfect example of bad initial reaction. first off, it’s not a competitor to the Q, it is the Q’s worst nightmare.

If you remember the iPAQ 1900 series and/or the iPAQ 4100 series, the HTC Excalibur is very similar in size. It is a smartphone, thus no touch screen, but make good use of the keypad and has that nifty jogger dial.

The Excalibur is extremely light weight and is much smaller than I expected. The shell is made of some sort of rubbery material that makes it easy to hold on to as well.

The jogger dial is cutting edge, but for me, it was easier just to uses the dpad to get around. It seems like a great idea, but I fear it will be as useful as the touch mouse on the iPAQ hx4700.

I expect this to be a SUPER HOT seller.
