Mobius 2006 Boston – Day 3

Day 3 was just as long as day 2, but unfortunately most of it was NDA material.
After breakfast, Wes Salmon, Microsoft leapfrogged the first speaker to show some no camera, no laptop goodies. After Derek, Michael Gartenberg from Jupiter Research talked to us about customer trends in the Mobility Industry.
Next up was Horace Luke of Microsoft, he showed off some AMAZING things to come (which unfortunately, I cannot share atm). After the pony show, Horace pitched three separate customer bases at us and we broke into groups to design the device of the future for that person. This was an extremely difficult excercise without comparing to something already out there. I felt like I was lost in space with my group since it was for the "mid 20’s female socialite", Luckily we had Paul O’Brien from Modaco and Susi from Shiny Shiny. Their hip nature and youth help a great bit. Oh, and look for a patent coming soon from Rich Brome (Phonescoop).
This design excercise took a good part of the second part of the day. After we presented out design ideas to the group, we had a suggestion session for Mobius and parted ways.
Shortly after breaking up it was time to get in a cab with Arne Hess and Jame Kendrick to head downtown for our dinner meeting with Don, Steve, and Jack.
Mobius is a great time every year (My 2nd time) and the speakers make the event. Of course, our input is heard at these, but I come for the knowledge I can get. (a few freebies don’t hurt either) I was really pleased to get to meet Jim Morrison (no, not that one, the CEO of I-mate) and Brian from Sling Media.
