Sprint announced it is improving mobile messaging for its customers with the launch of Sprint Mobile Email, a new downloadable email client powered by SEVEN. The application provides easy access to multiple email accounts in one place. Users can access their accounts from well-known providers like AOL, Windows Live and Yahoo! all by using Sprint Mobile Email. Customers can also add other POP and IMAP email accounts to access through the service.

"With Sprint Mobile Email, Sprint customers now have one place to go to check all of their email right on their wireless phones," said Jack Baker, director of wireless data messaging and communities for Sprint. "By making mobile email look and act closer to the desktop email experience, Sprint is giving its customers a familiar and easy way to access multiple email accounts while on the go."

Sprint Mobile Email is available now for download at no additional charge to Sprint data subscribers on select Sprint and Nextel phones. Sprint expects to make the service available on additional phones in the future. With the service, Sprint customers can view each email account they have set up on a separate tab at the top of the screen. By clicking each tab, the customer can view his or her inbox from that particular provider, as well as open, delete, reply to, forward and send emails.

Additional features of Sprint Mobile Email include:

– The ability to compose messages while outside data coverage, such as on an airplane, and save them for later sending.

– The ability to view other folders such as sent messages, deleted messages and drafts.

– The option to enable push mail notification to automatically synchronize the user’s mailbox whenever a new message arrives. Standard text messaging rates apply when this option is enabled.

– The option to enable mail alerts to receive an audible alert whenever a new message arrives. Standard text messaging rates apply when this option is enabled.
