It’s that time of year when everyone starts putting together their top 10  whatevers of the year… So here’s one from a firm of UK data recovery experts

Ontrack Data recovery specialise in getting data back from crashed hard drives and wiped systems… But it’s not always mechanical failure that loses information. To do it properly you need a special type of creative stupidity. So here’s there top 10 list of data recovery disasters of 2006 (all of which had a happy ending)

Highlights include a rotting Banana on top of a USB hard Drive, Packing your laptop in a pair of old socks, and spraying a hard drive with WD40 (to stop it squeaking)
