What’s the big deal?
Paul at Modaco has posted his review of the HTC P4350, their consumer branding of the HTC Herald.
Why should I care?
The Herald is essentially a Wizard 200 but in a slightly slimmer form factor (17mm vs 23.7). Other differences include MicroSD, an upgraded 2.0 megapixel camera, a fullsize non-telescoping stylus (it’s about time!), spring-loaded keyboard with CAPS & Fn lights that slides out of the right side, an EIGHT-way Dpad, a new Audio Manager, Adobe Viewer, Sprite Backup, and AKU3. WiFi and Bluetooth, but no 3G.
In summary:
…I had high hopes for this handset… and on the whole i’ve not been disappointed. It’s blend of compact size, great keypad, great keyboard, great screen and WiFi make it the perfect device for me, taking into account the fact I spend 99% of my life out of 3G coverage. This device is so perfect for me, i’ve bought one to use as my main device. Of course, if you are a 3G / HSDPA user who is willing to have a larger device with poorer battery life in return for faster data, then the HTC Hermes may be a better bet.
