Anything? No real rumors floating around this year. This time last year, Verizon was all the buzz in the phone market with their rumored exclusives on the Motorola Q and the Treo 700w.

The Motorola Q was one of the most innovative phones to come around in a while. It was thin and was to run Windows Mobile. This was one of the hottest, most talked about phones that we anticipated around CES last year. Verizon ended up getting an exclusive deal with Motorola for six months. That was a huge move for Verizon.

Another BIG BUZZ was the Palm Treo 700w. What? A Palm Treo with Windows Mobile. This could be big time for Microsoft. If not for some memory snags, this would have been an even bigger hit that it was. In case you missed it, Verizon nabbed an exclusive on it too.

For the 2nd half of 2006, Cingular dominated the market in the “Cool” Windows Mobile Phone category and that leaves me to wonder… What is Verizon working on. Why are they so quiet? Do they have some tricks up their sleeve just in time for this years CES?
