Industry Leaders Enable Enhanced Productivity, Rich Multimedia and Unparalleled Developer Support

Marvell, the leader in storage, communications, and consumer silicon solutions, extends its collaboration with Microsoft to support developers working with the new Windows Mobile operating system, Windows Mobile 6, with the recently introduced Marvell(R) PXA3xx series application processors (internally code named "Monahans"). This collaboration will allow the worldwide community of hardware and software developers, who have already developed on previous generations of PXA processors and Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system, to accelerate development of their tools and products on the newest version, Windows Mobile 6.

"Marvell’s PXA processors, supporting Windows Mobile operating systems, have been a critical ingredient driving the evolution of handheld devices," said Sam Arditi, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Marvell’s Cellular and Handheld Business Group. "We are excited to extend our relationship with Microsoft. Windows Mobile 6 and our new PXA3xx applications processor family will provide optimal performance, power savings, and an outstanding multimedia experience."

"Windows Mobile 6 offers a customizable, versatile solution that is easy for people to use, and simple and cost effective for businesses to deploy," said Scott Phillips, Senior Product Manager of Mobile and Embedded Devices at Microsoft Corp. "Marvell PXA processors offer outstanding support for Windows Mobile powered devices, enabling the development of the productivity applications and multimedia content that people can adopt to personalize their Windows Mobile experience."

The Marvell platform enabling program provides a wide range of tools to independent software vendors including development boards, board support packages, compilers, debuggers, software optimization kits and multimedia and graphics libraries. For the Marvell PXA3xx application processor family, Marvell also provides feature-rich mobile handset concept platforms that allow developers the ability to pick and customize features that are designed to meet customer and operator demands.

About the Marvell PXA Family of Processors
