Virgin America has outfitted their short to medium range airline with a brand new, not yet approved for flight, Prototype In-Flight Entertainment System. The US Department of Transportation has yet to clear it for commercial flights. However, this plane is loaded with gadgets: Movies on demand, music playlists, messaging, game consoles and more. My favorite would be the Wifi enable flight attendant handhelds. Geekadelic. In a world where airlines are cutting services and charging for crackers, it is odd to see an airline offering premium services such as these.
