Toshiba’s gigabeat U gets social with FM transmitter

This is a nice device from Toshiba that has been said to have some pretty great audio quality.   The gigabeat U series comes in 1GB and 2GB model and features Toshiba’s new high-quality, 1-bit TC94A82XBG DAC. I like the fact that it does have an integrated FM receiver/transmitter.  Being able to record that FM broadcast is a nice feature (although I’m not sure I’d use it) but more importantly, being able to listen to FM on the go is something I really like.  I guess the word is OPTIONS.

Only 11.9-mm thick with a 1.1-inch organic EL display, this unit has a 96×96 resolution. In addition to a rated 20-hour battery, it has support for Windows Media DRM10, MP3, and WAV.  The cost will range from $118 for the 1GB player and $142 for the 2GB model.
