The stock may have fell through the floor with the spoofed internal memo after Engadget dropped the bomb the other day, but Apple still appears be on track with the launch. As a side note, the stock is back to normal now.

Today Apple Insider is reporting that the iPhone has cleared the FCC. Nothing really to learn from the documents that haven’t been beat to the ground yet, but here you go anyhow.

Apple Inc. on Thursday received the official go-ahead on its first ever mobile handset, with the Federal Communications Commission giving the iPod maker the green light to commence sales of the device in the United States.

According to FCC documents obtained by AppleInsider, the “GSM Cellular Telephone with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi” carriers model number A1203 and FCC ID: BCGA1203.
