Google Maps now has GPS capabilities

Google Maps on your Windows Mobile Device
Contacts integration and GPS functionality make this version of Google Maps, available for Windows Mobile 2003 and higher, even easier to use.

Download the CAB, or visit www.google.com/gmm on your mobile web browser.

The Boy Genius Report indicated that while Google Maps has long been the most cost effective and free provider of mobile mapping and directions, the only problem had been its lack of support for internal or external GPS.

However the Boy Genius Report is confirming that it works with the internal GPS on a BlackBerry 8800.  So with Google claiming compatibility with other devices, we all just might luck out.
