It\'s is possible that the information within this article is now out of date or updated.

… and Resco Photo Viewer for Pocket PC is one of them!

When I first started with the Pocket PC platform, the first programs I purchased based upon advice from well know Pocket PC enthusiasts was RESCO Explorer and RESCO Photo Viewer.  Both programs have been the mainstay of my Pocket PPC experience and both programs continue to get better and better with each new iteration.

RESCO has just made my favorite image viewing application easier and more enjoyable. You can now easily share your pictures with anyone by uploading them on to the most popular online photo upload gallery at flickr.com.

New Features in version 6.30

  • zoom slider
  • gamma with RGB
  • optimized save, application can save big images
  • improved file operations
  • file operation prompting
  • browser can show folders “Show\Hide>Folders”
  • browser can hide Folder bar “Show\Hide>Folder Bar”
  • browser can lock Folder Tree “Show\Hide>Lock Folder Tree”
  • browser can show albums
  • optional left hand scroller in browser
  • Flickr.com support “Album>Publish to the Web”

Yes Resco Photo Viewer for Pocket PC is by far the closest thing you get to having Photoshop on your handheld, and it's easier to use :)

It's closest competitor, even if left half a light year behind, is (IMO) Xn-View, which handles just about the same number of formats, and has a few nice edditing features as well, but it lacks the abillity to communicet with PC's and online Photosites, which is the biggest force for Resco Photo Viewer, and the reason for buying it, if you are into photo viewing and edditing on your PPC.
