eee

Despite the real exchange rate being nearly 2 dollars to the pound, it seems that Brits always pay 1 to 1 when it comes to technology. Microsoft, Adobe, Sony etc all claim that they don’t charge us double.. usually while they are charging us double..

Anyway, it now looks like the EEEPC is on it’s way, and on it’s way fast. In fact Asus  say that it will be released in weeks, rather than months,  And your 199 notes will get you a Windows styled Linux machine which weighs in at 0.9KG and has 16GB of flash storage instead of a hard drive. Oh and you also get wifi, Ethernet and a video camera.. so as a portable websurfing, voiping, emailing console it looks great.

Combine that with what the Linux community will do with it once they get their hands on it and things could get very interesting
